Advanced Outdoor Technology

Gradient Grey

Designed to reduce the total light transmitted, this lens excels in harsh or highly lit environments. This tint and coating combination is engineered for digital viewing in bright light and outdoor applications.

Gradient Gold

Particularly designed for medium light outdoor environments. This lens gives great visibility to dashboard mounted nav screens, digital heads-up displays, and avionics.

Lens Tint

iONik Lens Tints

With advanced spectrophotometry, GUNNAR’s lab technicians have the ability to study and analyze even the most difficult lighting environments. Each part of the visible and invisible light spectrum can be measured and quantified. GUNNAR lab techs then use a combination of iONik lens tints and i-FI coatings to balance and optimize that lighting environment for the needs of the human eye.

  • Tints tuned to specific environments for maximum visual effciency.
  • Gradient lens filters intense lighting in upper field of view while allowing more light from electronics in lower field of view.
  • Complete UV Protection.
  • Enhances contrast for a sharper viewing experience.
Lens Shape

fRACTYL Lens Geometry

Designed using advanced computer algorithms, GUNNAR fRACTYL lens geometry, tuned for Transopic outdoor usage, is engineered to provide the maximal clarity in all depths of field. The highly wrapped configuration creates an ocular microclimate trapping in humidity and blocking out evaporative air currents. Wide lens coverage limits extraneous visual light that interferes with digital screen viewing.

  • Allows both outdoor distance viewing and close digital device viewing.
  • Advanced optics for augmented details.
  • Independent ocular microclimate provides increased humidity levels.
  • Environmental barrier blocks ambient air currents to alleviate dry-eye effects.
Lens Material

DiAMIX Lens Material

diAMIX lens material offers an optically pure viewing experience enhanced by ultra light, ergonomic properties. Developed specifically to hold the tightest tolerances in precision optics this advanced plymer provides excellent visibility, flexibility, and durability.

  • Precision optics for the truest image.
  • Ultra light for long haul ergonomics.
  • Impact resistant to provide maximum durability.
  • Low color distortion allows the highest level of spectrum control.

Lens Coating

i-FI Lens Coatings

I-Fi lens coatings consist of four layers of coatings to filter transmitted light and protect the lens: an anti-reflective portion cuts glare and distracting extraneous light, hydrophobic component keeps water spots to a minimum, oleophobic coating provides resistance to smudging and fingerprints, and a final hard coat reduces environmental wear and minimizes scratching.

  • Filters specific wavelengths to selectively neutralize harsh parts of the color spectrum.
  • Anti-reflective coating reduces glare and reflective light without using polarizers that interfere with electronics.
  • Hard coat layer for improved scratch resistance in rugged outdoor environments
